Don't purchase on LiveCareer.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My story is the same as everybody else's. I thought I was purchasing Resume Builder for $2 I used it one night the night I purchased it never touch it again found out I gave them $150 over several months that they took out of my account. I have been in touch with corporate they only allowed three months of reimbursements the rest is my loss. I sure learned a lesson from this company however I still believe that since they can tell that I only used it the one night that I purchased it for $2 that they should have given me my money back but apparently this is a scam by them and many people are actually being treated the same way do yourself a favor go somewhere else to build a resume and if you have built a resume make sure you look back and make sure they're not charging you monthly.

LiveCareer.com (Bold LLC) violates ROSCA and DETOUR with anti-cancellation Rebilling Scheme. A 1-week $2.95 trial requires 2-Part Cancellation.

Consumer believes cancelled, yet requires 2nd Separate Action to fully cancel. Then, the real deception starts: Consumer attempted cancel is added to "Hush List", receiving no communication from LiveCareer/Bold LLC whence the $24.95 monthly charge quietly begins leeching money from consumer. Anyone else affected, begin a Small Claims Case, Bold LLC will require traveling a Lawyer (as an incorporated company, most states require Attorney representation) to your area. Great payback for their purposeful and designed deception - consumers leeched money will easily be more costly for their staffed Attorney, legal fees, travel costs, etc.

Most local courts love to smash a company using deceptive practices. Report Fraud by LiveCareer & Bold LLC here: https://tips.fbi.gov/contact https://complaint.ic3.gov/default.aspx? https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/audio-video/video/how-file-complaint-federal-trade-commission LiveCareer.com / Bold LLC - Credit Card Fraud - Rebilling/ Non-Cancellation scheme. Pretends to cancel subscription, doesn't.

Cancels all communication to not remind consumer to check for billing. *WIDELY Complained about in indication of PURPOSEFUL AND CONSISTENT INTENT TO DEFRAUD. Deceptive Trade Practice Internet Dark Mode Practices - Intentional excessive measures for cancellation ROSCA Violation - Start with a misleading “risk-free” trial offer. Add a hefty undisclosed charge if consumers don’t quickly cancel the “risk-free” trial.

Fold in illegal charges to consumers’ credit or debit cards. Freeze out people who try to stop the unauthorized shipments and charges. livecareer is owned by bold llc. They pretend to cancel your trial and continue billing quietly.

I spent $174.95 gathering this info. If it applies, please use it. HQ Phone #: here (If you get partial refund, call here to escalate/complain further) Best practices with ANY large company is to document EVERYTHING. I have a phone recorder app for proof (not for Court use in most states, but in arbitration can be proof).

Always get Agent ID, Name, Date/Time, Discussion, etc. These companies purposely "Lose" the info - so you call, cancel, they pretend but DONT cancel; months later they've thieved hundreds of $ from you. You call and say "I canceled." They say "It's still active" in a practiced voice sounding like you're addled, delusional, aggressive, and contemptuous. Most folks immediately lose it so they win with the "Sir/Maam, cursing/anger/unintelligible is unacceptable/not tolerated, I'm ending this call." BAM.

They've stolen your money, and you STILL have an Active Account. (Read below to see Legal issues being sorted by the US Govt because these practices are REAL, PURPOSEFUL DECEPTION. EG ROSCA act 2018) To Get True Refund/Cancellation: First call here. Be Polite (if you're angry/threatening/etc, they can hang up) Say you canceled and when (if it's true, I'm not advocating lying) Their response: "Bla bla $12.95 plan costs less bla bla" Translation: I'm ignoring that you said you cancelled which obviously means we need to refund you, but since I'm an anonymous rep of a 500+ person company, located in a TERRITORY (Puerto Rico, different laws, able to get away with more deceptive BS), than I actually don't care because stealing from you pays my bills so why would I give a *** to give your money back?

PS My cat Sookie says thanks for the treats! You have to prepare to say everything 3x or more because they'll ignore anything you say regarding cancel/refund etc. Say you cancelled, the date, state the disputed charges, dates, amounts, etc. TALK OVER THEM or you'll NEVER get anywhere.

Their response: "OH, you THOUGHT you cancelled, you must be confused that you only cancelled the emails!" translation: YOU are an idiot, this is a canned response to misdirect it to your fault so we can get away with theft! OR "Did you get/use the cancel confirmation?" State that "It's illegal and deceptive practice to require double-jeaopardy 2-step cancellation. It's a ROSCA violation, I'm calling my Congressman over it." Sweetly ask for their name, agent ID, then say you'll speak to the supervisor now. (Don't ASK, as its your legal right for a tier level representation.

Asking just elongates their BS) Persist till you get a Supervisor. Restate that you signed, cancelled, certain you cancelled, don't need 2 Step cancellation, restate each charge, amount, and date, and total you need refunded. Continue until they cancel 3 immediately and promise for at least 2 more via their "accounting dept". Once they are refunded, CALL BACK.

Ask for supervisor immediately. Get name & Agent ID. Describe they've refunded charges, then request refund for remaining. They'll say no.

Argue the above, and ROSCA violations, DETOUR violations. Threaten to sue in small claims (small claims requires an individual NO lawyer, requires a business Lawyer - so they'll have to pay for a lawyer while you dont in most states. The lawyer will have to come to your state, costing for flights and room/board, billable hours. Then threaten to subpoena each agent you spoke to ($50/subpoena in NC).

Tell them you'll sue for max damages ($25000 in NC). So tell them basically, by not refunding your remaining charges of $100bucks or so, they'll spend about $50,000 in court on you. FOR ME, ALL OF THE ABOVE, multiple calls, dealing with their arrogance, speaking over me, pretending not to hear, requiring me to nail down the rep into understanding I was speaking of the final charges (not the prior refunded) needing refunded, they finally escalated the first 3 months charges into their "Accounting Dept/Corporate" to be seen for refund. THEY'RE A TECH MAFIA.

GUARANTEED. Maintain a level of friendliness, dignity, while being forceful and direct and not being overrun by their practiced misdirection. Next, see below to hit their bottom line where they've hit yours - speak out to warn others. Call/email their Executives.

Raise heck until they do right by you. Best of Luck. I've developed the backend (haha) of many online companies, and seen toxic company setups just like this in the form of dexknows, citygrid, yelp, and many more - they use this formula to deceive and steal. Most courts are still inept when it comes to understanding anything technology, so it's become a nearly common practice.

Because consumers need to be DILIGENT NOTETAKERS of EVERY INTERACTION with these types of companies. It's not an accident, the maze of misdirection, deception is ON PURPOSE to take your money. That's why they're becoming illegal practices, but these companies will continue to act this way, refine their deception, etc.

Who is this "everybody else" ? Don't include me ; I had nothing to do with it.

Speak for yourself ; you're allowed.

Don't try and justify your blunder with the "everybody" excuse. I am perfectly capable of creating my own resume.

Steals Your Money!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Paid a dollar for a resume template then magically was charged $24.95 at the end of the month (July). I didn’t notice until October I was being charged monthly $24.95. Called the customer service number, which had changed from the original purchase, and they said “they couldn’t find my account”. Went to my back to cancel my debt card and have a new one reissued an they still found a way to charge me. I finally tracked down the website, with the help of this site, found my account ID and when I called to cancel they tried to resale me their product TWICE, at a lower price. A $1 resume cost me $125, never use MyPerfectResume unless you like making a monthly “donation”

Ripped off

LiveCareer/ResumeNow kept charging me $ 24.95 for 7 months without my knowledge when I purchased a resume for 2.95$. When confronted, they said they will refund 3 months only. They have not yet processed a refund and await to see if they will continue charging my account or not.

Money Scam

Made a 1 time purchase in July for a resume template at $2.00. They billed me $24.95 at the end of the month and continued to do so every month until I noticed in October. The customer service number was changed on my statement and when I called they said they “couldn’t find my account”. I canceled my debt card, got a new one and they still found a way to bill me. Finally, I found the initial purchase and was able to login, find my account number and when I called to cancel they tried to resale their product for a lower price twice! A $2 resume template cost me $125. MyPerfectResume steals your money.

Live Career has many great features and I was able to use their services to create a few great resumes however after I created my cover letter, I was redirected to a "sister site" and had to pay an additional $2 for access to my cover letter on top of the $19.95. I proceed to call and cancel both accounts, as I had what I needed, and I was annoyed I had to pay more money! Now it's been 7 months since I called and cancelled and I just realized they have continued to charge me 19.95 per month. I just spoke with Jess, a manager, she said they would review all the calls from March to see if this was accurate. Really? Who is gonna do that job. Lol Per Jess their policy is to refund 3 months only. So be aware when you cancel your account. You might get a great resume and continue to pay for it....

The worst! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE EVER!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I tried to cancel my subscription 3 times. Each time it said there was no active subscription.

They continue to charge me! I spoke with costumer service via chat and they continually tried to sell me on their service to try and get me to not cancel. The agent asked if I was aware of their other features and I very bluntly told them I was not interested and just wanted to cancel. They continued to send me a long description of their other features and a "great offer" to continue service, instead of just resolving my issue.

After 21 minutes of nonsense they finally "process my request" and tell me they will be giving me a partial refund of half of one months fee! This company is a scam and will steal your money, NEVER EVER USE IT!

Worse Customer Service Ever

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I used Live career to create a resume in which I have not submitted to a company yet. I signed up for the 2-week trial then later came to cancel it. 2 weeks later I noticed I was charged 24.95. Since to the best of my knowledge I canceled the service, I called the customer service line to only be verbally attacked, bullied and treated very poorly. I have never experienced the rudeness of a CSR in my life. I was told I was not allowed to get a refund. And that on their side I did not cancel the service. I was bullied by the representative when I asked to talk to a supervisor. I just want my money back. this is a service I would have later used again and paid $25 or more dollars when I needed it but I will no longer use this service because of the way I was treated by this man. This is not a fair way to do business.

I logged onto live career for their free CV template. After completing the full CV for my husband I couldn’t use it unless I paid so I paid to download it once. What I did not realize was they would charge me R400 to do nothing on their website as they automatically subscribe you and renew you to their useless service. Never again! What an expensive mistake for something I could have done for free in Word

Defrauded us of our money

livecareer.co.uk

Our 13 year old child needed a CV last year.

Livecareers "free CV" service has been charging us over £13.00 per month ever since (twice in January).

Live career justified this by saying they had sent emails to our 13 year olds account and we should have seen the terms and conditions. They refuse to return our money or acknowledge that we did not agree to any further interaction with them.

We have contacted our bank who claim we entered in to an initial agreement with them. We did not.

We agreed to approximately £1.50 as a one off payment.

I am absolutely sickened.

Do not use them

I have lost over £125 so far.

They have refunded approximately £13

Good builder, terrible billing and customer service

Pretty basic resume builder. Site advertises $19.95 a month.

They will 25.54 a month ( odd number). Needless to say if you contact customer service they will simply refer you to the Terms and Conditions. What can I say, they are a typical online company with no customer service besides "Let me confirm you canceled your account".

Be advised they will tell you to contact them to "resolve any issues" or "Message us directly". Easiest way to deal with this company is advise your bank and allow your bank to Charge back the Live Career deductions.

They do state that they send "Monthly Emails" regarding the billing. I have never seen them but this is due to Gmail even seeing Live Career as Spam :-D.

Use Indeed Resume builder, it does not have as many options, But it is free and you do not have to worry about random charges to your bank account without you knowing.

I have never used this company at all. I create my own resumes.

I have a state issued child support card that I receive my child support on. After going over it I have realized this company has charged me 19.95 every month for the last 7 months. When I called he gave me a 9.89 refund and said I should have cancelled it before now.

Again I have never used this company at all!!!! I am beyond pissed I am going to be turning them over to the BBB.

Stole My Resume

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This company STOLE MY RESUME. I have contacted this company five times to ask them to remove my resume from their site which they are using as a sample resume WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. This resume contains private information including MY NAME as I am self-employed and job descriptions that I would never desire to make public - yet it STILL has not been removed and I keep getting stock answers via email. I have never signed up or used this site so they have stolen my resume from elsewhere, possibly from Indeed.com or the like from a time when I job-hunted. This is a disgusting business practice and if I don't get it taken down or removed in the next 48 hours I am contacting a lawyer and BBB. I don't understand how they can do this??

Forget the BBB. They can and will do nothing.

They are not the Commerce Police and are about as relevant as this retarded website. It's hilarious that you have listed job descriptions that you are embarrassed to publicize yet seek active employment performing.

The company, sleazy as they may be, did not steal your resume ; you handed it to them and probably even paid them to take it ! Don't compound this folly by wasting money on a lawyer.

Thanks for your 'hilarious' response when you know nothing about me or my work history and the whole point of this is that that is how I would like it to stay. I had never even heard of Live Career before and I certainly did not give them my resume nor any of my money or permission to use my name - which you would know if you'd taken the time to read my review. Go troll someone else.
