DO NOT USE LIVE CAREER """Free""" resume builder... here is why

After spending a day and a half on my resume using your software, I find out that it is only free to build my resume, but I have to pay to print or download it... strike one. You really ought to tell folks BEFOREHAND about that process.. AND BE CAREFUL FOLKS--- if you forget to cancel before 14 days, they will charge you almost $10 a week- billed on the 4th week,., SURPRISE!!! BUT HERE is the clencher for me... there is no back button or UNDO... onmce you've editted your work, you BETTER be sure it's 100% right and that you select the EXACT piece, because once it's gone- it is gone FOREVER... I don't know a lot of folks that are able to create a life story without making at least ONE mistake... this is a small thing, but after a day and a half of working on my resume- I am the victim of NO UNDO button... WTF...

Annoyed Customer

I needed to update my credit card information and send in my resume to a potential employer but this website would not let me do that. The customer service is a joke. I called the toll free line and no one answered. I was on the line for 20 minutes. The people on the live chat kept suggesting random things (like download Mozilla Firefox or contact your bank). I did everything and still couldn't access my resume. My bank said there was nothing wrong with my card and the card was just an update of the card I had on file with them before. Absolutely terrible and the customer service was just awful.

I used this service once and was cancelled immediately. They continue to bill me which I did not realize and I have been billed for $39.80 each month.

Now I am trying to work with customer service to get this issue resolved and also mastercard. They say they do not have record of my cancellation. What a scam! I read that others have this same problem and their cancellation was not in reported properly.

I have worked all day on this problem with no resolve.

The language barrier is difficult as they probably outsource their phone service to another country. I

Unauthorized charges to my acct

Two charges to our debit card - both were for $39.80, both on the same day. I cancelled the one trial membership that I had, on 1/20/16, and not clear why I have 2 charges. Spoke with Jem on the phone and he asked if the name on the card was some name I have never heard of before....? I am hopeful that a refund will be issued within the next 24 hours, as the rep stated, but based upon feedback that I am seeing, I'm not so sure.

Lost almost $50 :(

After making my resume in the trial and saving it, I wanted to cancel the account so as not to be billed, and it didn't go through the first time? Seeing that they billed me about $40 in one bill, I went back to the site and logged in to see the cancellation had not gone through. I was on hold for forever trying to get the money back, and eventually gave up when I came across these reviews (DURING said phone call). I wasn't even aware they billed that much in one go? Pretty sure it said $9.95 monthly... Just ask someone who's worked a lot to help you out; they'll probably do just as well putting together a basic resume. uhg.

I'm absolutely livid!! My mam trying her best to get back in to work. Did not have any money in her account and I agreed to help her download a cv which cost about £3.00 and I agreed to pay this for her on my card. As she desperately wants to get back into work!! A week later they take £23.00 out of my account!! Not my Mams account. MINE because I agreed to make a small payment to help her get back into work!! Have called to ask for refund as I say this is really fraud as I did not sign up to anything I just simply helped my mam make a 1 off payment to get back into work!! Still awaiting for my refund that I will never get back no doubt!! Beware this company is a total rip off!! Suppost to help people get into work!! All you do is rob them and probably take all the jobseekers benefit they actually get!! Without even telling them!! Disgusting!!!

Purchased a one time 14 day subscription and was automatically enrolled in a $40/month subscription plan without any notice and any warning. They know what they are doing assuming no one will read the fine print. No one reads the fine print but we trust that companies will do the right thing. Live career is a cheating snake of a company. I know what they are doing will catch up to them soon enough and we will see how long they last. What a disgraceful and dishonest company.

Real Online Fraud!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Middle April this year, I intended to make a simple resume online, this what they call themself free online resume from Resume-Now-LiveCareer offer to make free nice resume sample. Then I try it for free and it works like a charm at first. It said that if i want to print it, just pay $1.25 then I did pay it with my VISA. I never use the service after that. At first week of May I got bills from my credit card said i have to pay $1.25 then I did pay it. When I got my credit card bill end of May, it said that I have to pay for another $39.8 for Resume-Now service. I am so shock to read that, i am just an ordinary employee from Indonesia with paygrade only $300 a month. It is a heavy burden for me if they keep charging me for service i used only once. Is it legal for them to charge me like that without any confirmation for their hidden membership? This is my first experience having online fraud like this. If anyone have solution, feel free to share your info to me at versatilemployee@***.co.id I really appreciate. Thankyou

Unauthorized charges - Live Career

This company scams people from multiple websites, including myperfectresume.com and livecareer.com. I spent 99 cents on a resume only because I had gone through all of the resume building steps before they advertised it cost a thing. The site never mentioned they would charge me monthly. It was 2 months before I caught it on my credit card. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company and will fight to be refunded everything, but this company should be shut down before this happens to more people.

Scam website, bait and switch tactics, I am out over $200

Updated by user Oct 17, 2015

I have contacted the support center in the Phillipines, the staff are well versed with dealing with the billing issues and keep giving canned responses that you signed up for a subscription. The CEO of this scam outfit and the man behind this and myperfectresume.com (...

Original review Oct 16, 2015
The resume builder is good and I was happy to pay 1.95 to download a PDFs and be able to edit for 14 days. I did not want a subscription and did not elect to choose one.

Fast forward 5 months and they hit my credit card every month for $39.95, there was no notification or receipts, essentially theft. I did not sign up for a recurring subscription.

Google this website and you will see it's essentially a scam website, there are 100's of people who have been ripped off.
I contacted the company and got a disinitered rep in a call center in India that offered no resolution. Not happy at all.

Livecareer has actually an service agents manual for dealing with rip off enquiries and customers who feel that they have been scammed!!!!!!!

The existence of such a manual and its agent guidelines make compelling reading and verify that the company is well aware of the perceived deceit. The manual can be viewed here.....

The telephone number is 888 816-****, it is a call center in the Phillipines, they know well what the nature of this company is, be aggressive and do not take no for an answer. If a rep will not escalate, hang up and try again with a new rep. This company's CEO is Jamie Freundlich from New York and it is him that is enjoying your money.

I only bought one resume at their web site and wasn't susbscribing for any services. They charged me twice without my authorization £23 and they never send me any details, notifications. They just saved my card details and charged - no notifications, no updates - just small sentence in the end of the email saying that I will be subscribed to their service if I don't cancel my account. The whole service is made to confuse customers from the moment of signing up - they do not include money signs into description of subscription, they intentionally hide important infomation from customers. Its a fraud service. Support cancelled my subscription as soon as I told they they they received no authorization for this.

Update: Anna B. says "We are very committed to providing great customer service and again are very sorry that you had this experience." But everyone must undertand that they are not - all their product is about making you subscribing to their (service - I wonder, can we call this service att all?) without understanding what is happening. Their product and their business model are SCAM.

There should be a class suit against this company with the demand of refund and changes to be made in their product or its complete shutdown.

****A huge Scam*****

I signed up originally at $34.95 a month and then I canceled after the first month in which they sent me an email saying it was canceled. I then thought it was ok until a few months later I saw they kept charging. I called 7 different times and submitted a claim to them and they kept rejecting my refund. They will not give you your money back and the sight doesn"t download correctly in Word, it worked only in PDF. These guys got me for $248 dollars. Spread the word these guys suck.

Since I listen and comment on the posts a lot I just want to give everyone a heads up on this site I used to create a resume. It's called Live Career and it is a resume builder the advertisement said free and after spending over an hour perfecting my resume, it told me I had to pay $1.95 to download it. Since I spent so much time on it I decided $1.95 wasn't too bad so I paid on visa. I don't use my visa that often and when I checked my statement today I saw that they charged me $54.26!!!!! What!? I called and they told me since I didn't call and say I didn't want an account created and didn't want the free trial they used my credit card info and charged me a $54.26 trial fee. Do NOT USE LIVE CAREERS.COM. I had to call and cancel the "account" and cancel my credit card in case they tried anything else.
